The EASIEST Thanksgiving Treat For Those With No Time To Bake

Over my lazy weekend, I whipped up some homemade pretzel turtles for the brood. They received rave reviews, looked adorable, and were so easy that the kids had fun helping.

The recipe is literally SIMPLE.

You need:

Melting chips
Mini pretzels
Caramel squares
Pecans

First, preheat your oven to 350•.
Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
Lay as many mini-pretzels as you desire on your baking sheet.

Place one caramel on top of each pretzel and place in the oven for 3-5 minutes until just melted.

Remove from oven.

Place one pecan half on top of each caramel and gently press down.

Cool completely.

While cooling, place as many chocolate chips as correspond with amount of turtles you plan to make in a double boiler. I used one tin of milk and one tin of dark, because we love chocolate. 🙂 if you do not have a double boiler (which I don’t), then fill a medium sauce pan half way with water. Pour your chocolate into a small saucepan and place small pan floating in water. Stir consistently until melted.

Lift pretzels and spoon a small dollop of chocolate underneath. Place pretzel gently back on chocolate. Do not press down.

I spooned my extra chocolate on top of a few random turtles for aesthetic effect on the tray.

Cool for 4 hours.

Enjoy!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEK!!
